Alan Colegrave ARPS

I suppose my interest in photographer started when I was around 8 years old. I grew up living next door to a freelance photographer. That was quite a number of years ago and I am still very interested in still photography however it is not my main interest. My main interest is in the moving image and making films. So much so that after a few years of being mainly retired, I am starting to produce films again. For my major drama productions we use a DSLR. My favourite lens is between 85mm to 100mm. There is enough depth of focus for faces to stay focus but it renders the background soft and unobtrusive.

As for still photography I mainly do people or landscapes. I have not the patience to do natural history. For some time I had an interest in a London Studio but due to financial pressure we had to close earlier this year. When I had the studio, I shot most of my models against a green and chose the background at a later date.
