Joaquim Barreto

Joaquim is an award-wining photographer and filmmaker based in London, UK. His main areas are in fashion, portraiture, commercial and architectural in both photography and film.

Born in Portugal, Joaquim grew up in Adelaide, Australia, where completed an undergraduate degree in economics at the University of Adelaide. In 2001, while working for the Macau government, Joaquim bought a Hasselblad camera and two years later, he decided to pursue full-time a photographic career.

In 2004, Joaquim moved to London and completed his MA in fashion photography the following year. In 2007, Joaquim made his first short film. He now pursues both visual arts, photography and film. Joaquim is currently working on his debut feature film.
