I've been taking photographs for a long, long time...more than I care to remember really.

I don't specialise in any particular area, as you can probably see! If it's worth photographing, it should be photographed I think. It all adds to experience.

What I hope to show in my portfolio are simply photographs that I hope others will appreciate - they aren't a trial run for the LRPS Panel!

After owning many lesser, but perfectly good SLRs over the years (Praktica, Mamiya, Minolta), I've proudly owned a Nikon F4s since 1991. I bought a Sony DSC-F707 in '02 when the onslaught of digital became inevitable...

The Sony's done OK since, (awesome Carl Zeiss lens, awesome focusing, awful shutter lag!), but I've been waiting patiently for Nikon to produce something in the digital field that'd both allow me to use my existing lenses, and also equal or better slide and print stock...

They brought out the D2Xs in July 2006. I had to have one. It's been worth the wait.

The "Ouch..." photograph is of a friend who'd just undergone major surgery on his cervical spine. The staples looked so much like a zip fastener that I suggested we stick the end of a real zip onto his neck (using super glue!) and photograph it. He liked the idea so much that he even supplied the zip puller!
