Exhibition of Western Region Members Prints to be held in Bath, Swindon and Taunton.
Royal Photographic Society Western Region 2013 WR Members’ Exhibition
The RPS WR Annual Print Exhibition is open all WR Members.
Each WR member can submit a maximum of two prints in a category and genre of their choice. Prints may be any size and finish, but matted within a 50 cm by 40 cm mount. No other mount sizes will be accepted, with the exception of panoramic prints which are limited to a mount size of 70 cm by 35 cm. Please use white, off-white, antique white or black mounts only so that there is a uniform feel to the exhibition. No coloured mounts please.
The member’s name along with the print title must appear on the reverse of the mount in the bottom left-hand corner. Do not include your name or print title on the front of the print or mount. The member’s name, print title and short description will be dis-played alongside the print in the exhibition after selection and judging.
To avoid damage to other entries, prints with any adhesive residue, Velcro tabs or sta- ples etc. will not be accepted for selection.
Each entry must also be accompanied by a CD-R containing digital copies of the prints submitted and a completed print submission form. Digital files must be in jpeg and sRGB colour space format and a maximum size of 1400 pixels (horizontal) by 1050 pixels (vertical). The digital images will be used for the exhibition catalogue and RPS-WR website.
The 1st Hand-in of prints is at the 9th June Meeting.
The 2nd & Final Hand-in is at the 14th July (Duffy) Meeting.
Elizabeth Restall has kindly volunteered to act as the Gloucester Area Collection Point at the 16th June Meeting at Gambier Parry Hall Highnam, Gloucestershire.
Similarly, I need volunteers for the Bristol, Swindon and Taunton areas.
Print Selection Day: Prints for the exhibition will be selected in private by the judges during August at Fenton House and they will aim to achieve a balanced variety of genre and interest. Our aim is have 100 WR members submitting prints with a guarantee for each member to have at least one print selected for the exhibition.
Our exhibition opens in Bath Library at 6:30pm on Monday 2nd September for one week closing on Saturday 7th September.
It then moves on to Swindon West Library on Monday 7th October for two weeks and Taunton Library for one week on Monday 28th October.
