About Us

The Malaysia Chapter was formally established in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 23rd February 2012. Being new, The Malaysia Chapter aims very hard to promote the RPS organization in Malaysia, to cater to the needs of its members, as well as to build a community among members and the photographic fraternity over here, for the sole purpose of the promotion and sharing of the art and sciences of photography.

With a small team of hard working members, The Chapter is gaining momentum, being featured in July 2013 in The Star publication, a national newspaper publication, as well as in The Digital SLR Photography magazine, a monthly magazine on photography. It has successfully organized a month long events of exhibition, photography talks as well as a photo competition recently in July 2013.

The Chapter believes in working together with all related to photography and art, and with that, relationships are being established among camera companies, publication houses and local photography clubs, to promote The RPS organization further. Meetings are held rather informally, sometimes over "Teh Tarik" or milk tea, a Malaysian identity, and a part of the Malaysian way of doing things. To all of us here, it is rather the spirit of being a part of RPS that has succeeded to bind all of us together, and for that, the will to promote the aims of The RPS.
