About Us

The Sri Lankan Chapter of the Royal Photographic Society was formed in 2014 with the intention of promoting the art and craft of photography to its members through group activities and by regular interaction. Our Chapter is closely associated and supported by the Photographic Society of Sri Lanka (PSSL), which is one of the oldest photographic Societies in the world with a 108 year history. One of its pioneering members, Lionel Wendt, is on record to have participated in the RPS print exhibition in 1934. The founder Patron of the local Chapter was His Excellency Mr John Rankin, the British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka.  The RPS local Chapter offers activities and excursions together with the PSSL.
