'An Evening of Inspiration' The Dubai Chapter of The RPS had their 5th Meeting along with Shutter Bugs Creative Forum on 30th September 2016 at Lavender Hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The meeting comprised of 8 short presentations on a variety of photographic topics.

Photography LIVE is the region's only event for photography, videography & imaging. The 3 day event ( 7th - 9th May 2016 ) was held at Dubai World Trade Center. The Exhibition for the first time showcased The Royal Photographic Society.

The Dubai Chapter of The RPS had an early morning field trip along with Shutter Bugs Creative Forum members. Dr. Afzal Ansary, FRPS, ASIS visiting Dubai gave a short talk on RPS Distinctions. A proposed LRPS panel was reviewed by Dr. Afzal on location and the event also included judging of two photo contests

It is well said the appreciation of the present and future of photography can best be achieved with a better understanding of the past. The Royal Photographic Society Collection, (Companion Volume to Vol. 134, No. 10 of The Photographic Journal, Year 1994) is a publication about the Society's collection as well as a celebration of the centenary of the Society.

Enthusiastic amateur photographers may wonder on the possibilities for Natural History photography here in the Emirates. The conclusion could possibly be……. it’s a desert, therefore flora and fauna would be hard to find. Fair enough, that could be logical to some extent. But the desert interestingly presents a great diversity of life and scope for nature photography. A selection of nature images by members of Shutter Bugs Creative Forum highlights this fact.
