2nd Volunteer Week Announcement

02 June 2019

Region: Headquarters

Volunteers are invited to join the fascinating programme of talks to be held in conjunction with Space Steps: The Moon and Beyond. This is a very special exhibition to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landings, one of humankind’s greatest achievements.

The diverse range of talks include:

  • The Story of Apollo 11 – provides the background of this mission and how NASA achieved landing men on the moon.
  • Soviet Space Dog Memorabilia with Martin Parr – gives insight in to his personal collection of soviet memorabilia, with exhibition curator Debbie Ireland talking about the Apollo 11 items.
  • Women in the Space Race – looks at the host of women whose work has informed our knowledge of space and who have played vital roles in Space exploration.
  • And many more enlightening talks.
