The Cave, Linear House, Peyton Place, Greenwich, SE10 8RS
The Cave is a 245 sq ft space in Linear House, Greenwich, London SE10, managed by RPS London; used for workshops, RPS Meetings and exhibitions, especially of Members’ work. Not huge in size but big on ambition, we can accommodate up to a 6 person workshop using a Plasma Screen or projector and have displayed up to 4 Distinction panels at once, as prints.
Recent successful workshops have included Architectural Photography, the use of Typology in image making, and an exploration of the Thames riverbanks to produce urban and abstract images. We have also held advisory days and AGMs (occasionally using the larger Greenwich Gallery space) and are now running monthly, informal, evening meetings to allow RPS members to network and keep up to date.
We make a point of displaying work from Members and Groups. Currently on display we have successful Distinction Panels and we have recently hosted images from the Digital Imaging Group. Previously we have hosted exhibitions around our anniversary year shoot ‘L1853’, the SIG exhibition from Bath and, similarly, the RPS Overseas Members exhibition.
The Cave is available for bookings to all RPS Members, Special Interest Groups and Regional Groups for exhibitions, workshops and advisory days, all for a contribution towards running costs. Or, maybe you just want a photo walk tour of Greenwich, a World Heritage Site, with the Cave as a base? Please contact Norman Smith LRPS at firstname.lastname@example.org for bookings or further information.
Drop-In to The Cave
If you would like to meet other RPS members, why not drop in to The Cave (Linear House, Peyton Place, SE10 8RS) on Tuesday afternoons between 14.00 and 17.00? A few of us meet there informally to talk about all matters photographic. Feel free to bring along a few images for discussion - either prints or on a USB stick or tablet.
