Today Bleeding London is commemorating 100 years since the outbreak of World War I.
We’re looking for war memorials, memorabilia, related events, relevant street names, poppies, red and black etc. for the Bleeding London portfolio, and we hope that Bleeding Londoners will also support the DVJ’s WWI project with a picture from today (details here).
Because this was a historical moment of such significance, we’d like a really good turn-out for today’s task. We’ll have a special WWI album on the RPS website, to which all images fulfilling the brief will be uploaded. We’re also offering five bonus points for each image submitted on the theme of WWI and a signed copy of one of Geoff Nicholson’s books for the best image. There is a special category entitled “WWI” on the portfolio website – put your image in that category for submission to the album and the chance to win the book. (BPCC 0408).
We’re mindful that many BL’ers are on holiday at the moment, so we’ll close the submissions on the 25th August. You can also submit any image that you’ve already taken for the BL project.
