I found myself on the bridge ...

23 March 2014

Region: London

A quote from the book provides today's inspiration for Bleeding London:

'I found myself on the bridge between the shores, connected with the past yet living in some poorly imagined future, in this new place of somebody else's making, futuristically quaint with cars like Bakelite radios, men with jet packs strapped to their shoulders, dressed in skin-tight silver synthetics, helicopters and monorails full of commuters.  We thought it might be like this, the London of Dan Dare.  We were wrong to expect the expected.' (Bleeding London, 1997:28-9).

We're looking for bridges - both real and metaphorical.  Real bridges can include those over the river, canals, roads, railways or street names containing the word 'bridge'.  And for metaphorical bridges, the only limits are your imagination.

Bonus points for jet-packs!

And don't forget our first Shadow Stuart competition - details here.

Expensive Journey. Wow! I have also taken a similar picture of a bridge from river Thames. I love it.
