Continuing our stories behind the images of London members. Today's story is brought to us by Barry Hoffman LRPS.
I often sign up for studio shoots via meetup.com and I enjoy shooting with other people in a studio setting – it’s companionable and as I am often short of time, it works for me as someone else is responsible for setting up the venue, organizing the model and the equipment – it’s just up to me to direct the model and adjust the lighting to my preference and then shoot off home!
In this particular shoot I was playing with black and white shots of this model who was dressed as a dancer –we got some very evocative Hollywood style shots and some great moody portraits.
We chatted as I took shots – she was Spanish and I thought she looked a bit tired – especially in such high heels - so I suggested she sit down on the background paper and have a rest. I carried on shooting whilst we chatted and this turned out to be the only colour image of the day and one of my favourite images as I think it captures a sense of melancholy that she had when describing her native Spain.
