Something for the weekend?

15 May 2015

Region: London

If you're at a loose end this weekend, there's plenty happening in RPS London and non-RPS London.

A couple of our members have recommended exhibitions:

The Deutsche Börse

The shortlist reflects a diversity of attitudes towards the medium underpinned by an exploration into new and unexpected modes of presentation incorporating video, text, object and wall-based photographic displays. "This year's shortlist is the most exciting in decades" (Florence Waters, The Daily Telegraph)

The Photographers Gallery, 16 - 18 Ramillies St, London W1F 7LW

Getty: Big is Beautiful

"Displaying some of its finest imagery from photographers such as Herbert Ponting, Slim Aarons and thurston Hopkins, to name a few, the exhibition is a celebration of the large scale print." (Getty Images)

Getty Images, 46 Eastcastle Street, London, W1W 8DX

And don't forget the London Photo Festival (see yesterday's blog post).

Or join us for one of our workshops:

London, Street Workshop along Oxford Street on Saturday 16th May when we are walking one of London’s most famous streets and take in the galleries on the way. Both are in the vicinity of Oxford Circus.  We will begin at Tottenham Court Road Tube station and walk through to Marble Arch passing Regent Street / Oxford Circus on the way.  Likely to be a very crowded, particularly if we get the sunshine, so be aware of the usual safety considerations.

Details and booking info here.

Lightroom Workshop - Book Publishing.  Learn how to design, plan, proof and publish your photo book.

And if you're not too exhausted after all the above, then how about some retail therapy at Photographica on Sunday?
