As part of the ongoing RPS London / Kick it Out collaboration, our Deputy Regional Organiser, Roger Kelly, was recently invited to participate in the filming for a forthcoming Kick It Out campaign promotional video raising awareness of the potential harm that can arise due to inappropriate remarks made on social networks.
The story goes that, during a football match, a black male footballer was racially abused on a social networking site by a spectator. The film then examines the knock on effect of the comment and focusses on the player concerned, his partner, the abuser and the users friends and explores the options of challenging and reporting such behaviour.
The promotional video will be launched soon and we will post a link to it in due course.
The image here shows Roger expressing concern about the comment he has just read on his mobile phone app.
