As temperatures fall and the leaves turn stunning shades of russet and gold, the Lake District is at its most photogenic. Stunning views with beautiful light and colour of trees are amazing- it's a photographers dream come true.

Elter Water (Lake of the swans) , heart of the Langdale Valley is surrounded by gentle wooded country leading to the steep and precipitous cliffs of the valley, enhanced by the nearby Elterwater and Loughrigg tarns.

About 30 RPS members and non-members turned up for this event. The weather left a bit to be desired but eventual the sunshine came through. Three walks were arranged in different directions.

North West Regional organiser announced that three prices will be awarded to three best pictures taken at this event- Gold, Silver and Bronze medals (with certificates). Each person could enter up to three images.

Full credit goes to Robert Metcalf and his team (Tim & Alan) who took the lead to organise this event which turned out to be a great success.
