Meet the Team

Regional Organiser - Carol Palmer ARPS

I joined the RPS in 2001, gaining my ARPS in Travel in 2004. I was awarded the RPS Member’s Award in 2013 for my sustained support for the RPS over a prolonged period.

I appreciate almost all branches of photography including the work of the Old Masters. My favourites being Alfred Stieglitz and Irving Penn.

My own photography includes visual art & travel.

I was delighted to be elected as Regional Organiser for Northern Region in March 2017.

Deputy Regional Organiser - Geoff Chrisp

Geoff has had a keen interest in photography for many years but has only had time to fully focus on it since he retired 3 years ago. He is currently working towards achieving the LRPS distinction.

His main interests are contemporary and street photography and he enjoys working on specific projects to produce coherent panels of prints.

Treasurer - Bob Turner ARPS

Bob took on the role of Regional Treasurer on 28th March 2017. He joined the RPS in 2001 and gained his LRPS later that year. He went on to achieve his ARPS in 2006 in the travel category.

Bob enjoys taking photographs on any subject but prefers people and places photography. He was once a darkroom printer but has gone digital now.

Secretary - Bob Gates ARPS

I joined The Society in 1970, gained my LRPS in 1972 and ARPS in 1980.

I have been a volunteer since 1993 as committee member and regional organiser in Yorkshire. Since then I have sat on the Licentiate Panel as a member and Chair, been Secretary of the Contemporary Group and more recently a Society Trustee and Council Member.

My photographic interests are varied but my work tends to be produced as a series of works on specific projects rather than single prints.
