The RPS's newest group gets under way

16 March 2015

SIG: Analogue

We are now open for membership, and we have had our first committee meeting...so are planning events and a newsletter: watch out for details. Our first event was at Lichfield Cathedral in January, and it was a great pleasure to meet so many enthusiastic photographers.

I have been asked several times by the chairs of other RPS groups whether we will major on any particular genre of photography like landcape, travel, scientific or whatever; analogue imaging is used by a wide range of photographers, who enjoy many different types of photography. As we establish ourselves as a group, we look forward to working with other groups who encourage particular types of photography e.g travel.

I suspect though that film is immensely popular with many landscape photographers!

Photo of Loch Roe, Sutherland, is © David Healey, and was taken on a Plaubel Makina W67, and scanned from the negative.

All the best with the newest group.
I'm so pleased and uplifted by the fact that analogue is in an ascendency.
And I'm so glad to be a part of it too.
Keep it up everyone and spread the word...

Good luck to the new group. Appropriate so close to the anniversary birthday of Anna Atkins.
