THE MILLENNIUM CUP COMPETITION FOR PRINTS

This annual competition is now held in October each year (it was moved from November in 2016).

Rules for the Print CompetitionTVDIG Millennium Cup for Prints

1.0 WHO MAY ENTER
1.1 The Competition is open to all current Season Ticket holders (present on the day) and those who have purchased a Day Ticket for the day of the Competition.

2.0 ENTRIES AND PROVENANCE
2.1 Entrants may submit up to TWO images; all entries will be displayed as a single class in random order.
2.2. All images and their component parts must be the sole copyright of the entrant.
2.3. Any image submitted must not have been awarded a place in a previous Thames Valley Centre Print or PDI competition. That is to say images placed first, second or third or have been Commended or Highly Commended in either the Print or the PDI competitions of the Thames valley Centre are ineligible. Images that are substantially the same as a previously placed entry will be regarded, for the purpose of this rule, as the same image. We wish, however, to see new work and the re-submission of any non-placed image is discouraged.
2.4. In consideration of the objectives of the Digital Imaging Group, all entries must include a digital phase in the workflow from capture to print.

3.0 IMAGE PROPERTIES
3.1 The prints may be colour or monochrome.
3.2 Prints must be mounted on card sized up to 50cms x 40cms including mount.  A single entry may consist of more than one print on the same mount provided it conforms to the size limits. The reverse of each print must clearly bear the print title and the name of the photographer. Framed prints or prints with any Velcro or sticky areas will be rejected.

4.0 SUBMISSION OF PRINTS
4.1 Print entries must be submitted by 10.30 am on the morning of the competition.

5.0. JPEG VERSIONS
5.1. JPEG version(s) of the image(s) must be sent via email to

printcomp@tvdig.org.uk

to arrive before midnight on the Wednesday before the competition.
5.2. Images should be no more than 1400 pixels wide and no more than 1050 pixels high, colour space sRGB. The filename of your image should consist of the image title, then the word "by", followed by your name, (spaces allowed), and optionally your distinctions. Examples would be:

5.3. Images must be attached to your email, not embedded. You are strongly advised to send your image(s) in a 'Compressed' (Mac) folder or a 'Zipped' (PC) folder.

6.0. AWARDS
6.1. The judge will determine an overall winner, who will receive theMillennium Cup to hold for one year, and a Winner’s Certificate. The judge will also choose images for second and third place, and award certificates. In addition, up to three Highly Commended images may be awarded certificates. The judge may award as many Commendeds as he/she wishes. Commended images do not receive certificates.

7.0. PUBLICATION OF IMAGES
7.1. We reserve the right to display the winning images in the Centre’s web site galleries. Any copyright information will be displayed if deemed appropriate. Images are submitted on this understanding.
