4th December 2016 - Stephen Banks "Dorset Scouser" - Stargazing: Capturing the Milky Way on Dorset's Jurassic Coast. Stephen Banks has been documenting the night skies of Dorset for over four years. His images have been shortlisted for international competitions and appeared in national newspapers. In this session, Stephen explains why he loves Dorset for stargazing, how he plans jhis shoots, the techniques and camera settings he uses and his subsequent editing workflow. http://dorsetscouser.com/
Depending on time Paula will show some of her work followed by our usual "Show and Tell" so please bring along some prints, perhaps some night shots to show Stephen? He does run workshops for members who are interested.

29th January 2017 David Clapp - Professional Landscape Photography Unveiled.
David Clapp is a landscape and travel photographer who never expected to be. An avid musician, he learned the creative language through guitar and sequencing software, making his transition to cameras and Photoshop seem almost second nature. Forever attempting to push the boundaries as technology unfolds, his technique and technical abilities speak for themselves through the complex work he produces.
‘For me, photography will always be the marriage of computers and cameras. Technology and creativity has always been a constant source of fascination and my vision has always taken a rather elliptical orbit, between day / night / landscape / architecture / travel. I can’t define exactly what it is I do, so I do them all.’
David works closely with Canon UK and Canon Europe, representing Canon at numerous leading industry events like 'The Outdoor Show', 'The Photography Show' his public speaking and teaching skills have extended beyond workshops to video presentation. David has co-presented 'EOS Adventure: Portrait & Landscape Photography' and also presented tutorials for the Canon EOS 6D, sent to Patagonia, now a landscape camera that he uses extensively throughout his work.
David divides his time between business and creativity - He works for numerous magazine titles, as well as amassing a strong position in commercial architectural photography, stock photography for Getty Images and as a inspirational lecturer and workshop leader for premier workshop company Light and Land.
THE DAY - David is presenting a showcase and workshop on his professional photography. Enjoy a informative and illustrated talk on his captivating technical work, from a local perspective to a the wild deserts of America and Namibia. From air punching highs to crushing lows, his journey to success has been far from easy.
In a second session, David will also unveil his intricate use of computer technology to demonstrate not only how he approaches and processes his imagery, but also how this affects his mindset in the field. An Adobe Influencer, his command of Photoshop / Lightroom as well as other software will inspire you to take your photography to the next level.
