All RPS members are welcome to join the Travel Group.

The Group was formed in 1990 to promote the enjoyment and understanding of travel photography: of trying to capture the spirit of places we visit and, through photography, sharing that spirit with others. The Group provides a forum where members can improve their knowledge and exchange views regarding travel photography and related issues.

The Group is at its liveliest and most effective when there is discussion involving a wide range of members.

Roads More Travelled 2026

The Group's annual opportunity to share their enthusiasm for travel photography with others, to hear some inspirational thinkers and enjoy light-hearted discussion.

A journey from Canada to England 1963

9th July 2026, 19.30 BST

Canada to England – Aug to Dec 1963 presented by Lachlan French

A photographic record of the journey home (by plane, train, bus and boat) from Montreal across the Pacific, the Far and the Middle East in 1963. Including some period images of famous sites but focusing more on less well-known locations and the experience of travel sixty years ago.

The images, from 16 different countries, have been selected from a universe of 757 slides and are accompanied by extracts from a daily travel diary and additional historic notes.

Cambridge Photography Day

A day of photography and discovery in the beautiful city of Cambridge.

A city famed for academia but also a city of architecture and natural beauty, join us for a day of photography and learning in this world-renowned city.

We will meet at Great St. Mary's Church at 11:00 where we will meet our Blue Badge-qualified local guide for a two-hour walk and overview of the city and discover places to revisit later for our own photography.

Tea stalls, madrassas and festivals - a road trip across Pakistan with Jo Kearney ARPS

Tea stalls, madrassas and pagan festivals - a road trip across Pakistan from Peshawar through the Hindu Kush, Karakoram and Himalayas to the brick fields of Lahore.

Jo has worked as a videographer and producer for the international news agency Associated Press for many years as well as photographing for NGOs and newspapers.

Jo mainly does travel, documentary and portraiture photography and her favourite destination is Central Asia. She will be talking about a recent trip to Pakistan and Bangladesh.
