Colin Hawkins is a professional photographer who has been supplying library images for Getty Images, Cultura and Alamy for over 15 years.
An experienced freelance photographer shooting both in the studio & on location for libraries & commercial clients creating images for the global market place.
This workshop is especially aimed at individuals who have attended the "shooting for stock" workshops & who have an understanding of the stock photography industry.
Group limited to 6 people
A hands-on opportunity to enhance your photographic production skills when shooting stock images involving people and making your shoots more effective.
How you can make your images more creative and competitive.
The workshop will cover the creative process in creating stock images & getting the most from your shoots.
Shooting in and around Hawkeye studio near Bath, with beautiful country surroundings.
Workshop - Shoot day experience:
Time: 10.30 – 4.30
Concept creation:
what to shoot & why?
Coming up with concepts & how to shoot images that sell.
Creating a self brief and shoot plan.
Shoot production: (lifestyle models will be available for the shoot period)
Production techniques & examples
Shooting with models – giving direction & getting the most from them on the day.
Backgrounds and props - choice and positioning.
Location- shooting effectively
Equipment- cameras & lighting
Shooting using daylight or available light.
Camera control and settings, angles, viewpoint,
Shooting tethered to laptop
Post production:
Editing- choosing the right images
Experience required:
NONE! A good working knowledge of your own camera is essential but the workshop is especially aimed at individuals who have attended a "shooting for stock" talk by Colin.
What you need to bring:
DSLR Digital camera and cards various
Burnable Cd to take your images away
If you have your own lap top & tethering software or any other equipment you think you might want to use please feel free to bring along.
